Here are the most frequently asked questions that we are asked about SnoozeShade for Cots – if you have any further questions, please contact us direct and we’ll be happy to help.
Do I need to use all the straps?
SnoozeShade Original, Twin, Plus and Infant Carrier:
It all depends on the make and model of your pram, stroller, buggy or infant car seat. On some you may need to use all the straps and others you may only need to use one or two pairs. Don’t worry that it doesn’t fit because you have tried to use all the straps as you may not need to. Everyone fits their SnoozeShade differently – there is no right or wrong way – just your way.
Our YouTube channel shows you two ways to use the straps to each other in two ways.
If you are not using some of the straps we recommend that you attach the pair to each other to avoid the Velcro hooks pulling the fabric and tuck them away.
SnoozeShade for Travel Cots:
You must attach the straps around the legs of the cot for safety purposes. On a travel cot double wrap the straps for the safest fit.
How do I fit it to my travel cot?
Place the SnoozeShade over the top of the travel cot, matching the corners of SnoozeShade to the corners of the travel cot. For the safest fit, secure the bottom straps by double wrapping them around the travel cot’s feet.
Leave the top open and fold the panel into the pocket provided. Close the top by zipping it up, either partially or completely.
There are two side panels on the cot canopy which can be folded up and secured by poppers to increase light into the cot. Let these down to make the inside of the travel cot darker.
Will SnoozeShade for Travel Cots fit my cot bed?
No – but a version for cot beds is in development.
If you’d like to be added to the waiting list for the cot bed version please email us.
How does SnoozeShade work?
How do I use SnoozeShade for Travel Cots when it’s hot?
SnoozeShade is not an air conditioning unit. If it is hot and sweaty day or night it will be hot and sticky inside the cot as well as outside.
Ensure the cot is out of direct sunlight, use breathable fabrics for clothing and bedding, minimise blankets and clothing on baby and check on your baby regularly.
SnoozeShade for Travel Cots will provide shade and allow air to circulate – so if there’s cooler air and a breeze then it will flow through the cot.
You can also raise the side panels up to allow extra air flow. If you have any concerns about using the product in a hot environment then do not use it.
How do I use SnoozeShade?
What can I use SnoozeShade for Travel Cots with?
You can use SnoozeShade for Travel Cots with all popular travel cots – it is not suitable for use with pop up style tent travel cots.
It will also fit continental cots – specifically a cot that will take a mattress sized 120cm x 60cm.
NOTE: It will not fit a cotbed.
SnoozeShade for Cots should not be used with anything other than a standard travel cot or continental sized cot. It is not suitable for use with a crib, cradle, bassinette, cotbed, carrycot or playpen.
What are the benefits of using SnoozeShade?
How does SnoozeShade for Travel Cots help my baby?
Rather like drawing the curtains in a nursery, with regular use, SnoozeShade for Travel Cots becomes a sleep trigger for babies– helping them ignore visual distractions and creating a cosy comfortable sleep environment wherever you are.
Deeper, longer sleep with no interruptions means well-rested happy babies which means everyone in the family is happier. It also means you can relax more that your baby will get the sleep needed when staying in places where there are no curtains or you are sharing a room as a family.
